Goulash soup and chicken fillet with spinach-garlic sauce is perfect meal for one person.

Excellent food. Good service. Free Wi-Fi. Right in front of the market.

The best hungarian restaurant, with excellent service and dishes! Try the chicken paprika or the goulash soup :)

Barátságos, mosolygós személyzet!
Tökéletes ételek a belváros közepén a Vásárcsarnok mellett!
Csak ajánlani tudom mindenkinek.
Biztos visszatérünk!

Barátokkal érkeztünk, vacsorázni.
Először a teraszra ültünk, amikor esni kezdett az eső, beültünk a benti helyiségbe, a személyzet szó nélkül segített helyet találni és behordani a poharakat, tányérokat.
Az ételek bőségesek voltak és ízletesek.
Az italok gyorsan érkeztek a kiszolgálás barátságos, családias.
Csak ajánlani tudom a helyet.

This is located near the Great Market Hall. We wanted to sit outside since it was a nice day and found this place. I had the grilled smoked cheese on a salad, which was delicious, and a glass of wine. No hurries, we were able to sit and relax and watch the people stroll by. Pleasant lunch.

I was here with my friends and we all enjoyed it very much! Stunning athmosphere, very friendly staff and large selection of amazing dishes. Fast service even in the busy evening period. We’ll be back again for sure!

The name might be slightly misleading as this ‘café’ is in fact a full restaurant. With pleasant décor and polite staff, our Hungarian food was very nice, as was the wine, making this a popular venue.

The food was amazing and huge portion we had to ask them for take away. Amazing staff very friendly
One thing for gulash soup the erosz pista should be mandatory ; amazing

Good service and everybody in our group were satisfied.
Soup with blue cheese and bacon was amazing as well as gulash soup.
Mains: Gipsy pork, chicken, duck and Pörkölt.
Duck breast steak with mushroom gnocchi was the number one.

We turn up as family of 7 without booking, even though it was a busy Sunday afternoon the waiter Feri was quick to organize table for us, and the food recommendation for kids and adults alike was the best we had all week in Budapest. Highly recommend, very knowledgeable English speaking staff and family friendly.
Thank you so much

Like most Eastern European countries Hungarians love their meat, that leaves vegetarians like me out of options. I was Soo happy to find they had a vegetarian lasagna. I've had quite a bit of lasagna in my day and I have to say it was amongst the best I've ever eaten! Lovely location. Nice friendly and helpful English speaking staff. Fries and onion rings we're had by the kids. I wish I'd taken a picture but I was just too hungry

Relaxing spot to watch the world go by while dining. I had the whole trout and my wife had the salmon. Both were delicious, loved the rub on the trout. Reasonable prices and pleasant staff.

Authentic Hungarian food is being offered in so many restaurants, just tried this one out and were not disappointed. Had crispy goose leg (has to be a little greasy but well within the norm), with onion mashed potatoes and braised red cabbage while my wife had the spicy red snapper filet with jasmine rice, all very tasty. Had Hoegaarden white beer in the largest glasses I have ever seen this beer served in, wonderful.

After landing in Budapest we were looking for somewhere to have a late lunch and stumbled across the Old Street Cafe. It's in a great location where you can sit and watch the world go by; the staff are friendly and the food is tasty and reasonably priced. Would definitely visit again!

Sat down for a drink but ended up staying for a meal. Great location, Sat watching the world go by.
Great selection of drinks and food. All freshly prepared and arrived nice and hot. Plenty to eat, salad was very fresh and crisp.
Great service too

We were able to get a table for 2 easily on a Friday night around 745pm. The restaurant had a nice cosy feel upon entering, there was also a man playing a keyboard, which was a nice touch.
I had duck breast and a jacket potato, €15, which was nice, my husband had gypsy style pork, €12 which he said was great. We shared a bottle of red wine, which was ok but overpriced at €18. We had a dessert each €4, we both went for the layered cake with rum and walnuts. This was the best part of the meal for me. The staff were lovely, very friendly. They add on 10% service charge to the bill, so ours was €62, perhaps a little on the steep side but a pleasant meal.

Small but cozy cafe situated near the Central market, at the end of Vaci street. Nice goulash and very tasty chicken paprika with dumplings!

The cafe is near the Central market, very cozy and relaxing. We went there to eat some traditional food as the food at market was not as we expected (sour and cold).
The owner (I think it was him) speaks perfect English and understood me quite well.
We ordered salmon with grilled vegetables for me and Somloi galushka for my husband. It was soooo Great! And two hot chocolates are just wow!
Unfortunately, I don't have the photo before, but only in the middle.
The price is reasonable for such quality.

Good service. Nice food, goulash full of meat and flavour, Tuscan soup could have been a little bit bigger and lots of parmigiana cheese on top thought would be better optional. Good cocktails, very fresh bread.
